Tips for job applications

The application is your “business card” you can use to show us who you are, which are your strengths and why you would like to work with us. In order to gain our attention best your application should have the right form: prepared with care, clearly structured and complete. It can be sent to us either online or via conventional mail. This is the first important step. As soon as we have received your application you will receive an acknowledgement of receipt, we will forward the documents to the relevant business unit/department and will contact you as soon as possible.

Cover letter

Keep it brief but cover all important questions - that would be our wish for the first page. Here, we would like to hear from you how you got to know about the vacancy, why you would like to work with us and in this special field, which are your relevant qualifications for this field of work and which are your other important characteristics. It would be nice, if you also named your earliest starting date.

CV

Looking on your CV we would like to get some information on your occupational history, your qualifications and the person behind the application. Thus, the CV should be clearly structured. It should contain details concerning your education, professional experience as well as know-how and skills (PC skills, foreign languages or additional qualifications) but also information about your personal interests.

References

You should only include references relevant for the position applied for. These are certificates for studies and education as well as references of previous employers.

Work samples/publications

No matter whether you apply for a scientific position or for a position in any other field, you should also include work samples and previous publications.

Of course, your personal data will only be stored internally and will be treated as confidential in accordance with our data protection provisions.
